BIG BOOK OF SONGS BY NUMBER - SAMPLE PAGES
Above you'll find a sample page from THE BIG BOOK OF SONGS BY NUMBER (ISBN # 0-9718936-2-4).
Also, THE BIG BOOK OF SONGS BY NUMBER includes songs which require the black keys of the piano, called "flats and sharps."
Since this is more complicated (to a younger child who is just starting) than playing only on the white keys, we suggest starting with perhaps PIANO IS EASY or THE CHRISTMAS CAROL KIT.
All piano methods, including ours, start out with the white keys of the piano, leaving black keys for later.
For these reasons, PIANO IS EASY or THE CHRISTMAS CAROL KIT are perhaps a better introduction for younger children. THE BIG BOOK OF SONGS BY NUMBER is intended for older children.
Children love the pictures at first, as in PIANO IS EASY or THE CHRISTMAS CAROL KIT and then place less and less emphasis on them, just playing as many songs as they can.
Our advice is to purchase PIANO IS EASY or THE CHRISTMAS CAROL KIT at first, if your child is under six. If your child wants to go further with playing by numbers, or if you have an older child who wants to start, then purchase THE BIG BOOK OF SONGS BY NUMBER.

WHY IS THIS METHOD DIFFERENT?
Our books are designed to provide children with preparation for piano lessons, a fun process they can do at home, before they start regular piano lessons.
All other piano methods start kids far too quickly, causing early frustration and eventually leading most to quit.
We've found this failure can be prevented by starting your child playing piano "by number" at home, and then making a slow and smooth transition to reading sheet music using our fun music activity book, I CAN READ MUSIC!
This "Fun Method" has proven results, turning children into happy, interested experimenters who enjoy tinkering with the piano.
HOW SHOULD I USE THE BIG BOOK OF SONGS BY NUMBER?
Wait until your child is utterly comfortable with every song in PIANO IS EASY and/or THE CHRISTMAS CAROL KIT before moving forward.
When they are ready, and need another challenge with piano by number, or if you have an older child who is ready to try piano, introduce THE BIG BOOK OF SONGS BY NUMBER.
This book introduces the use of the black keys of the piano. It's an easy concept to master once the child is comfortable with familiar songs on the white keys (PIANO IS EASY and THE CHRISTMAS CAROL KIT have all the songs on the white keys.)
